MCCBMM22 Week 1 Recap

Week 1 of MCCBMM22 happened a few weeks ago. The project has been on hiatus, but is about to restart for its rabid fans.

Here's a summary of what happened in case you missed all the action on Twitter.

#1 First round matchup: Fox Sparrow (FOSP) vs. Song Sparrow (SOSP)

Winner: Fox Sparrow. He found some real trees. #TeamFoxy
Loser: Song Sparrow. He found fake sky. But he was rehabbed and had some babies.

#2 First round matchup: Veery (VEER) vs. Gray-Cheeked Thrush (GCTH)

Winner: Veery. The squirrel stopped bugging her. #TeamVeery
Loser: Gray-Cheeked Thrush. She crashed into a window. She was rehabbed but showed up too late to the party, got a deadbeat dad, and her nest failed.

#3 First round matchup: Lincoln's Sparrow (LISP) vs. Swamp Sparrow (SWSP) 

Winner: Lincoln's Sparrow. The nice lady closed the blinds. #TeamLISP
Loser: Swamp Sparrow. He was entangled in fishing line and had to be euthanized because of the severe leg trauma.

#4 First round matchup: Swainson's Thrush (SWTH) vs. Hermit Thrush (HETH)

Winner: Swainson's Thrush. The wonky twin tree could not get the best of her. #TeamSwain
Loser: Hermit Thrush. She thought the glass was a riverway. Rehabbed and released and had babies.

So the second round will see our Fox Sparrow faceoff against our Lincoln's Sparrow, and our Veery face off against our Swainson's Thrush. Here is the updated Very Official bracket:
